ROLE LEAD ART DIRECTOR



CONTEXT
Located in a nondescript industrial cement building and unable to change it due to leasing, Eugene, Oregon’s Tailored Coffee Roasters struggled to find a way to make their business stand out.

CONCEPTIYKYK [IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW].

I realized there was no use fighting against something that couldn’t be changed. Despire Tailored’s strong identity and vibrant interior, its location made it easy to miss. So we transformed an issue of lack of visibility into a sense of exclusivity. Inspired by the underground scene and skate culture, we employed threshold editing, limited-edition stickers, ambiguous graphics, recurring motifs, and guerilla marketing techniques like wheatpasting to build a Tailored universe.
